Flat Embroidery (Satin Stitch)
Flat embroidery lays thread flush across the surface, so the finished panel looks close to a screen print but will not crack, peel or fade with washing. It is the most practical choice for brand logos and clean graphic artwork.

Design Guidance & Best Practices
The constraint is minimum stroke width: very thin lines need a heavier thread, and small text below a certain size fills in. We set the digitising parameters to your artwork rather than forcing the artwork into a default file.
- Best for — logos, wordmarks, clean vector graphics and large flat colour areas.
- Thread — polyester or rayon for sheen, matte cotton for a softer, less reflective finish.
- Durability — flat embroidery tolerates abrasion and repeated washing far better than a printed or heat-transferred logo.

Quick Answers: MOQ, Sampling & Lead Times
Short, self-contained answers to the questions buyers ask most about this programme.
- What is flat embroidery?
- Flat embroidery lays thread flush across the surface in satin and fill stitches, so the finished panel looks close to a screen print but will not crack, peel or fade with washing. It is the most practical decoration for brand logos and clean graphic artwork on canvas.
- Embroidery or print for a brand logo?
- Embroidery for premium positioning and durability; print for fine detail, gradients or very small type. Many clients use both — an embroidered logo on the face and printed care or compliance text inside, which keeps the visible branding tactile and the legal text precise.
- What is the smallest legible embroidered text?
- As a rule, stay at or above 6 mm cap height for sans-serif and 7 mm for serif. Below that we would usually recommend a woven label instead, which stays sharp at small sizes and avoids the thread fill that closes up narrow letterforms.
- Does flat embroidery work on lightweight canvas?
- It works, but dense fill on light canvas causes puckering because the stabiliser cannot hold the stitch tension. On 10–12oz we reduce thread density, use a lighter backing and keep fills smaller; 14oz and above carries dense flat embroidery without distortion.
