Leather Trim & Leather Parts for Bags

Leather enters our bags as trim rather than as the body: shoulder straps, saddle-leather handles, debossed crest patches, zipper pull tabs and the stress washers that stop a handle from tearing the weave. We specify leather with the same discipline as embroidery, and every handle style is load-tested before bulk.

Leather parts we produce

The leather work sits inside the same order as the embroidery and the weaving, so the trim is cut and matched to the bag it belongs to instead of being bought in as a generic strap and stitched on at the end.

  • Shoulder and crossbody straps, adjustable, with edge paint and stitch colour matched to the embroidered panel.
  • Saddle-leather handles for totes and duffles, riveted with solid brass or copper and backed by dual leather stress washers.
  • Debossed or hand-embroidered crest patches used as the brand mark on woven bodies, where a printed label would disappear.
  • Zipper pull tabs, wristlets and small leather reinforcements at every point where two materials meet.

How to Order & Sample

  • Tannage and grade - we work in vegetable-tanned full-grain; if your brand already runs its own leather, send a swatch and we match thickness and hand-feel.
  • Thickness by position - a handle and a zipper pull are not the same hide weight, and cutting one from the other is how straps stretch.
  • Colour reference - Pantone TCX or a physical swatch, agreed by lab dip before any cutting starts.
  • Load target - every handle style is tensile tested to 15kg of vertical pull; tell us if your market or your retailer asks for more.
  • Branding - blind deboss, foil, or a hand-embroidered bullion crest on a leather patch, decided before the dies are cut.
  • Hardware pairing - rivets, D-rings and clasps are chosen with the leather, so the finish and the colour of the metal do not fight the trim.

Where These Bags Are Used

Scope: what we do and what we do not

01
What we do
Leather trim, handles, crest patches and pull tabs on canvas, raffia, sea grass, rattan and bamboo bodies, cut and matched inside the same production order as the embroidery.
02
What we do not do
We are not a leather-goods factory. We do not cut and stitch a 100% leather body. If your style is all leather we will tell you at the feasibility review instead of taking the order and subcontracting it.
03
Why we keep it as trim
Because the leather and the weave are specified by the same team, the handle, the patch and the lining are matched to the body that carries them instead of being sourced separately and hoped to fit.

Quick Answers: MOQ, Sampling & Lead Times

Short, self-contained answers to the questions buyers ask most about this programme.

Do you manufacture 100% leather bags?
No, and we say so before you spend money on a sample. Our leather work is trim, handles, crest patches and small parts on embroidered or woven bodies. If a style is all leather we tell you at the feasibility review instead of taking the order and subcontracting it.
Which leather do you use, and can you match mine?
We work in vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, free from heavy metals. Send a swatch of the leather you already use and we return thickness, tannage and hand-feel feedback plus a lab-dipped colour match before the sample is cut.
How strong is a leather handle?
Every handle style is tensile tested to 15kg of vertical pull, riveted with solid brass or copper and backed by dual leather stress washers. If your retailer asks for a higher figure we quote and test per style rather than quoting a generic number.
Can you work from a leather sample or a photo of a handle I like?
Yes. Send the physical leather and a photo of the construction you want. We reply with the tannage and thickness we would use, the stitch and edge finish, and what it does to the sample cost, then build it into the sealed sample so you judge the real part rather than a drawing.

What is the MOQ and lead time for leather trim?

MOQ is 50 pcs per style, the same as the rest of the order, because the leather is cut inside it. Sampling runs 7–10 business days to a sealed sample; bulk follows the same schedule as the embroidered or woven body it belongs to.
